Chief Technology Officer
Bernd Gross is CTO of Software AG. With 25 years of international experience in the IT industry and in management positions, including in the UK, Finland and Silicon Valley, USA, Bernd is one of Germany's pioneers and thought leaders in the areas of digitization, cloud computing, the Internet of Things and Industry 4.0.
Bernd co-founded Cumulocity in 2012 as part of a management buy-out of Nokia Siemens Networks. Prior to that, Bernd led innovation management and technology rollout projects at Nokia Siemens Networks in Silicon Valley. Bernd completed his master's degree in information and communications technology with an MBA from London Business School.
Chief Marketing Officer
Paz Macdonald is the Chief Marketing Officer at Software AG. She holds over 20 years experience in marketing. She joined in January 2019 from MongoDB where she was the Vice President for International Marketing. Paz has held marketing management positions at IBM, Cisco, Samsung, HP Software and Cognos. Paz holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Economics from Loughborough University and a Professional Post-Graduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Philippe La Fornara
President EMEA (excluding DACH)
Philippe La Fornara has accumulated over 29 years of experience in European high tech companies. He joined Software AG in October 2012. Prior to Software AG, Philippe spent 7 years at Unisys. Philippe has held numerous sales leadership roles at Dimension Data, Fujitsu Consulting, Microsoft Europe and Data General Europe (acquired by EMC). Philippe holds a qualification in Civil Engineering from University of Liege in Belgium.
Werner Rieche is President of DACH (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) and joined Software AG in July 2015. He has held various consulting, pre-sales and sales positions at SER Systeme AG, FileNET, IXOS Software AG and Open Text. Werner holds a degree in Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences, Niederrhein.
President Asia Pacific and Japan
Anneliese Schulz is President Asia Pacific and Japan and joined Software AG in 2011. Through her support and leadership, APJ has won 'Region of the Year' two years in a row for 2017 and 2018. She holds more than 10 years of sales and management experience in the IT sector. Prior to Software AG, Anneliese has worked for large multi-national companies such as SAP and Siemens. Anneliese is based in Singapore.
President Latin America
Renato Morsch has served as President of Software AG in Latin America since September 2017. He has over 20 years of experience in sales leadership and sales-related roles in the IT-industry. Renato built his career at IBM where, during 17 years, he developed his skills on leading sales Teams in Brazil and Latin America. He has held sales director roles at SAP and Salesforce. Renato holds an MBA from Funda??o Dom Cabra’ in Brazil, as well as a bachelor degree in production engineering from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.
General Manager Global Alliances & Channels
Mike Saxton is General Manager of Global Alliances & Channels. Mike was previously the Regional President of Asia, Pacific and Japan, where he oversaw 60% growth in license and associated businesses. Mike has held various account director and sales director roles at technology and software companies including Sun Microsystems, Hewlett Packard, NEON and TIBCO Software. Mike is based in Sydney.
People and Culture
Padma is COO R&D and Head, Software AG India. Padma has over 30 years of product development and global management experience both in the US and India. She has covered a wide spectrum of roles in the IT field including development, product management and support before assuming management roles. She has successfully set up R&D centers and helped pushed Software AG India up the value chain delivering innovative & enterprise class products & solutions. Prior to joining Software AG through the webMethods acquisition, Padma has worked for i2 Technologies & Bellcore, USA.
Padma received her Bachelor’s from the prestigious Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani, India, and an MS in Computer Science from Texas A& M University, USA. She received many honors in her academic and professional life, including a United States Patent and Software AG’s President’s Award for Excellence in 1994.
